I was in town today, and had a money saving 'Lucky moment' today, and also created one (I hope!) for a stranger
My * Right place/right time*
Looking for a birthday card for a relative - the card shop was heaving with people, and the atmosphere was electric. My first thought was that there was a real panic on about Father's Day, but then I realised the shop was on its final day before closing down - and they were virtually giving stock away. Any 5 cards in the shop for a pound - I picked up 15 for all the occasions I could think of, including 5 of the big 'Sorry you're leaving' cards, which I'll give to the boss at work on Monday - they cost a couple of quid a time on their own - and at the tills I was charged £2 for all 15 cards!:rotfl:
*Passing on the RP/RT (right place, right time)*
I completely forgot to take the coupons from last weeks' Daily Mail for my Tesco shop last night (rats!) - coupons run out tomorrow, so I tried to see if they'd credit them on production of my till receipt. No luck, and now no use to me, so I went to the checkouts, found a young mum with a couple of kids and a huge trolleyful of shopping, and gave them to her - £5's worth in all - she was surprised but, I hope, pleased!
Just wondering if there are others who have created or benefited from 'Moneysaving Serendipity'?

i was doing my shopping on the way home and really needed to get some beer after a shocking week.....realised I had no ID on me and couldnt be bothered with an argument, so didn't bother trying...got home and found my housemate had been given loads free at work and doesnt drink so passed it on to me! So it was fortunate that i hadn't taken ID.
I havent created any...but i will look out for chances to do so.August grocery challenge: £50
Spent so far: £37.40 :A0 -
I paid for the bloke behind me at the Dartford Tunnel once, just for fun.
Gawd knows what he thought.....If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I'd have loved to have seen his face!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
At christmas I buy several of those 50p After eight boxes and give them to unsuspecting cashiers when they are looking harassed. Their faces are a picture!
On a more thrifty basis I was in Mr T's last week and redeemed my Morrisons £5 off voucher. I had actually been given a second voucher and they wouldn't let me redeem 2 so I gave it to the young family behind - bemused was not the word!44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
I carry most of my MOCs in my purse and if I cant use them and they're near the end date I'll pass them on to some one else in the queue.I regularly hand out the farmfood ones as I find it really hard to spend that much in there. The bemused looks on peoples faces really tickles me."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0
