Thanks to all for your supportive comments, i'll just have to go for it myself and see how it goes! it doesn't sound too bad at all, as with many things in life the problem and worry lies within our own minds, like already mentioned we tend to punish ourselves with the "what if's"...in reality things are seldom as bad as we imagine. thanks again guys for that.
  • Mark,
Think of it like i did, imagine you have really bad toothache, you really do not want to go to the dentist, but you are so glad to be in that waiting room, you know the suffering will be over . You leave and it is all gone.

  • It really is just a formality, not like a criminal court, no John Deed or Rumpole of the Bailey. You may have to hang around for hours like I did, or like Holes in and out in 15 mins. One thing's for sure you will feel a damn sight better once outside;)

    Hi Mark

I went BR last week, waited 30 mins or so to see the Judge (he was on his own in the Court). He did not ask any probing questions but wanted to be certain that I had taken professional advice i.e. debt counseling. After the Judge, I had to wait to be connected by phone to the OR office where again, the guy I spoke to was very friendly.

    Good luck with it.

Thanks for the advice guys, BUT if by chance the judge deemed i wasn't entitled to go BR would i get my money back? i'm on benefits so i get the court fee paid but the other £360 i have to pay to go BR...would that be lost if he said NO there are other alternatives for you to go so i cant BR you?

No, I don't think you do BUT if you have taken advice and have been told it is your best option then you won't be turned away.

The usual things they turn you away for is not taking professional advice and not being insolvent.
