Hi
I wasn't sure where to post this, so please feel free to move, if I'm in the wrong place. I was wondering if anybody could offer any advice? I've got a couple of black items that have faded a bit, but are otherwise in good condition. I've seen Dylon Wash and Dye in the supermarket and been thinking of getting some to redye my stuff. Has anybody tried it? Does it work? I'm most worried about it getting into my washing machine and then dying my next wash black aswell. I just wondered if anybody had any experience of this product?
Thanks
Gwen

I used some a couple of weeks ago to dye a curtain (didn't go to plan as I should have used about 4 boxes!)
Anyway, I was also worried about it ruining my machine, but I just put a dark towel in afterwards and ran a rinse cycle and it's fine (I gave the rubber a wipe as well as some dye seemed to settle there). I've since done some washing, including some light sheets and bedding and they're fine.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Hi,I have used it several times with my black jeans and a black linen trousers,a couple of t shirts.
Make sure you weigh the items and use the correct amount of salt and put the washer on at the highest temp with plenty of washing powder and/or soda crystals to flush it out, also wash another dark wash to make double sure the machine is clean.
When hanging out the dyed items turn them inside out if it is sunny.

I've used the red one and all was fine. The seal did get some red deposits on but they came off with white vinegar - it was like a tooth disclosing tablet showing up the limescale on the seal. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Wow, thanks guys. I think I'll get some. I have a nice black jacket and jeans that have both faded a bit with washing. I'll get a packet and use it for them both.
Thanks!
