Please help me advise my classroom assistant

I am looking for some advice for my classroom assistant.
I am a teacher and ahve three classroom assistants (because I teach children with profound disabilities). All are very good and all are on temporary contracts. We had a bit of a bombshell today when all three were told their contracts would be terminated at the end of term (next Friday). I will be getting three new assistants next term transferred from other schools.
One of my assistants had an injury at work earlier in the year after falling on our ungritted car park. Several people had accidents on it, but she is the only one who still is sustaining an injury. She has been working, but is in considerable pain. All appropriate forms have been filled out and she has been referred to the council OT. She is now worried the injury will prevent her from being considered fit enough to take up alternative employment. What are her options?

This sounds slightly fishy to me, you have three assistants with temporary contract doing their jobs well then why replace them, the children are comfortable with them I would have thought so why upset the apple cart unless it has something to do with the accident, as you say all forms have been filled in then make sure that she keeps copies, it seems to me that out of sight could mean is out of mind as far as the council are concerned. Keep on at the council it seems to me to be their fault.

Most likely these 3 coming in are on permanent contracts elsewere and about to be displaced due to new budgets/ staffing levels and it works out better to get rid of three temps than three permanent staff.
As for the injury. It wont affect the claim etc.0 -

You don't think the LEA would really consider what's in the best interests of the children do you ? LOL0 -
