Childcare problems and the OR!

OK, I may still be able to resolve this but............
I've just managed to get a place in a local schools nursery section but they only have an afternoon slot. I am now struggling to find a childminder to pick my daughter up after nursery as most of them are already committed to after school pick ups at other schools. If I was to reduce my hours to allow me to collect my daughter from nursery, how would the OR view it? I really don't want to reduce my hours as I would be significantly worse off financially but I may have no choice.
Also my meeting with the OR is in July and I won't know my new tax credits by then as I won't have changed child minders or had started using the free nursery school place either, do I need to tell them it will change or wait until it does?
Thanks folks, seems like get one thing sorted and another issue raises its head, but do you know what - no longer stressing about it just want the niggles resolved!

If you have no choice, then if your OR does not like it, tough, its not as if you want to reduce your hours, but your child has to come first, end of.
As for the rest, you only need to inform the OR once, or within 21 days, of a change in curcumstance that changes your income.
If you dont know there is no point in mentioning it realy, as they will most likely just say get in touch when it happens, but if you want to mention it, it wont hurt, its up to youThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

There's not a whole lot you can do about it honey - good childcare is incredibly difficult to find, and I couldn't tell you how many times I have changed my working arrangements - nursery opening times, starting school, going full time at school, school ruddy holidays!!! It's a good job we love 'em, otherwise the amount of grief they cause us would drive us all batty!!! :rotfl:
The OR will accept that your child comes first, and as you only have to tell him/her about changes in your finances when you know about them there's little point mentioning things beforehand.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

I suppose I was thinking if the OR knows my income is going to drop he may delay a decision on an IPA but I'm not worrying about it - no point it will either happen or it won't!

Well just got off the phone to a lovely lady who is going to become my new childminder - subject to my daughter liking her :rotfl:The childminder is pretty much on my way to work from my house so thats even better.
So I didn't need to worry and everything is falling into place now.

am I right in thinking , the IPA can be adjusted by the OR to suit your income.......or, can be appealed by you via the court, if your circumstances change? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

If your circumstances change - up or down - you let the OR know within 21 days. Then any IPA can be amended - you don't have to go to court. Occasionally, if you disagree with an IPA the OR goes to court to try and impose it, but I believe this is rare and doesn't work in their favour as often judges are against them.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Your comment about being my Daddy was funny, the OR actually has much more reaching powers than my Dad - after all the OR now controls my assests and is investigating my financial affairs before and during bankruptcy, something my Dad gave up trying to do a long time ago! :rotfl:BR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500
