I don't ahve any recommendations but it's worth looking at https://www.tripadvisor.com

that said I think there's been a bit of jiggery pokery on it lately and if you get a hotel with a lot of glowing reviews it's worth checking to see if the users who posted the reviews have only posted once or twice :)

I think the zoo is very easily got to from the city centre, so you might want to stay there and do a bit of shopping too. Many moons ago I stayed at http://www.abbey-hotel.ie/index.html and it was excellent. Fantastic value for money and if you know Dublin, it is yards off O'Connell St, just by the back door of Penneys.

Getting to the zoo is easy enough if your in any city centre hotel, if your driving down make sure there is a hotel car park as paying for one can be expensive. The city centre tour buses are well worth the cost as you can hop on/off wherever and phoenix park is on the tour, they are regular and finish about 6pm ish. There is also plenty of other places on the tour to see, guiness factory, jameson factory, collins barracks etc. Last time i was down i stayed in the comfort hotel just of parnell sq. was clean and reasonable and also within walking distance of o'connel st, can be booked online but no car parking though.

I am going to Dublin in November for our anniversary (34th:smileyhea) so want somewhere nice and central. Most hotels that I have checked only have double beds. We prefer a King/Queen bed. Does anyone know of any hotels that have larger beds that are decent. I have looked at Trip Advisor but the comments on the majority of hotels are so varied:confused: The Dylan looks best up to now:D Any help/advice would be great

The morrison hotel in Dublin is a fantastic hotel and has suits with King size beds (not cheap though).

As for original poster have you tried NIrail travel? Always have very good rates, which include train down, the hotel and 1 dart return. We got 2 nights b+b train etc for £115 (each) when i called them.

The Morrison is not available for the first two nights, so I think I will go to the Dylan. Expensive but looks superb:D

Cost about €100 a night for a double room :)
