I have always been rubbish at radios. I can never, ever find stations I want. So I've never bothered having them.Got a wind-up radio then Pastures? If so - you could listen to something of a bit more "intellectual" variety on Radio 4.
I just fail to understand where the stations are, or find them. In the car, I rely on random finds.... I press the search button when it gets boring and leave it on 'whatever' while it's passable.
I just have a wind up torch, in my little bedsit. I'll just sleep.Think I'm sorted somehows:
- wind-up lantern - check
- wind-up torch - check
- wind-up radio - check
- camping gaz hotplate - check
- camping gaz fire - check
- Kelly Kettle - check
"gaz" canisters and loadsa loadsa candles/matches - check
Sleeping's fine.
Sleeping is good.0 -
Surely ONE of you would just drive to the chippy that has the leccy .... you can't all be mad and risking life/limb and fire crouched over a camping stove, surely!0

We used to do the same and mum would boil a kettle on a calour gas stove so she could have a cuppa.
Toast done on a radiator doesn't have the same appeal to me. Perhaps I'm old fashionned.
I have a woodburner, with a nice hotplate...
go, go, strikers! You have nothing to lose except your job! And if you lazy beggers get fired, theres plenty more who'll work for half the price!“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I wonder if this will hit petrol/diesel too, that could have massive effect on people if it continues, not being able to go to work, pay bills, food supplies and even holidays
Petrol/diesel is already creeping
I just passed a petrol station with prices at 108.9p/litre for unleaded.0 -
I have a wind up torch. Sits in a cupboard and once every fifteen years when I need it I find the batteries have failed. Really winds me up.
No? No good? Spoilt by the Prodigal Son now are we?
OK then. A chill wind has blown through the candle industry, which as Cleaver mentioned was previously on fire. It's a case of "one out, all out".
I don't get paid for this you know.0 -

They already were fired. They have until Monday to re-apply for their jobs and hope they get them back.0 -

I thought that was the twits at lindsey oil refinery, who go on strike about five times a year? Aren't other oil workers going out on illicit wildcat strikes "in support"?
If so, I say fire the twits, and advertise their jobs onto the open market.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
