I've not got one, but there's some very mixed reviews here.
Hopefully someone who has one can be of more help.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it

Hello
I don't own one but I am occasionally allowed to babysit a friends whilst she is on holiday.
Hers is the Cricut expression. Its in my dining room at the moment so I can give you a pros and cons.
Pros
Very easy to use
Cartriges may seem expensive but they're significantly cheaper than say a cuttlebug alphabet and are a lot more versatile. You can cut them from v small to huge.
The paper dolls cartidge is amazing!
Cons
The initial outlay cost. I believe the expresions are £250 - £300
In order to get a good mix of shapes etc youwould need to but a few cardridges. That said, the George cartridge that comes with the machines has an alphabet and loads of basic shapes on it. You can cut tags, flowers, balloons, etc.
The accessories are quite pricy - I think the 12x12 cutting mats are about £10 for too and the do lose their stickiness after a while.
I'll probably add more when I'm not so tired tomorrow. Have a look on my blog if you like - everything I've done since the 14th of June has used elements from the Cricut, The one of my Granny when pregnant has a frame cut on the cricut as well as the letters and flowers. The one of her as a baby has the alphas and the swirls cut on it. The cards have alphas and flowers cut out.
Overall I would say that I would buy one if money was no object, But it isn't....... so I'm going to buy a cuttlebug instead and swap it with her occasionally for specific projects. If only those cuttlebug alphabets weren't nearly £50 each!0 -
hi ,im a crafter and have a craft robo by graftec , you can pick one up on ebay for about 100 quid ,
not like others, it doesnt need dies or cartridges that are costly and mount up, and not only does it cut ,it draws too , gel pens n glitter pens put to good use
it takes gsd files , and you can modify your own from images with a bit of practice
never mind paying 50quid an alphabet , with the craft robo all you need is time to template your own , cost......... nada
and sizing is up to you
my OH made a fancy for sale for his car in vinyl , and it cuts t-shirt vinyl too
if you dont have the pc know how, there are plenty of club n groups online that share files and you can buy fancy gsd files on ebay for a few quid ,
other version are the wishblade that make a similar machine,
i prefer this type cos then you arent limited to someone elses imagination ,but can do anything you want
