Yorkshire Water

Went BR 29th May - had a letter today from Yorkshire Water saying they are sending me a payment card and to pay with that. What I don't understand is why? I rang them and they said that they had had advice of BR on 30th May and they had cancelled DD. This account has always been kept up and they money comes out of my OH's account - is this normal practice? The bill was in my name though. Thanks in advance for replies.

Apparently with united utilities its normal practice to send out a prepay card soon as they know about bankruptcy....so looks like YW are doing the same...give them a rng & tell them you want to change payments to a DD & they should look at the account...(they changed mine without any hassle)We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Thaks for quick reply Phil, have already rung them and done as you suggested, just couldn't understand why they needed to do that when it was not my account money was coming out of
. Will I now expect other companies to do the same, i.e. BT, Npower etc.?

Hard to say.....all the utils companies are pretty vague when it comes to BR...what happened to one person might not always happen to another...daft I know!
what MOST will do is cancel your old agreement & any debts (if any) owed & then start you on a new account number from the date of your BRWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Thanks again for quick reply - I had no idea that that's what happened - no debts for any household bills as OH pays them all, didn't know utility companies were notified0
