Hi everyone

Has anyone tried the new chinese buffet restaurant (china king buffet i think!) at Victoria Square? We are heading into Belfast on Saturday and quite fancied giving it a try for lunch.

Any comments welcome - many thanks.:)

I tried it a couple of weeks ago (a Sunday night). They offer a limited range of starters, enough main courses to keep most people happy but the dessert selection was pretty poor. Fruit, jelly, chocolate cake and very runny ice cream from a machine.

I wasn't impressed at all but it's clearly popular judging from the fact that it was full to bursting when we were there, mainly families (i.e. beware if you don't like kids!). I've heard that you need to be there by 6 in the evening to guarantee not having to queue. I would imagine that it would be very busy on a Saturday lunchtime.

It was bunged on Tuesday lunchtime last week when we were there.

Did us ok for lunch so I'm giving it a thumbs up.

Another vote from me. Went there a few weeks ago on a Friday evening around 7.30. No queue and the range was enough to keep me and the OH happy.

Thanks folks for your replies. Didnt go to Belfast in the end today as we have just heard carnival is on next week so going then instead. I think we will give this place it a go - i love buffets and carvery type restaurants:D

Mind you Victoria Square restaurants in general dont seem to be going too well, just read in BT that Ba Mizu has also closed. We tried this earlier in the year thanks to BT deal and really liked it.
