As I keep saying I get very upset when I can't treat my children. Well today I have treated them to a paint set, 2 videos and a ps2 game. It's cost me a grand total of £2.30. One video is disneys sleeping beauty, the ps2 game pluds other video are power rangers and look brand new.
Paint set can be used for Easter cards. I love jumble/table top sales. :T :j

Well done BH. It is brilliant when you can treat the kids at a fraction of the cost. I bet there was a time when you'd have just bought items for them at full price and added to the debt. Kids don't care how much things cost generally and never know when you've picked it up for a bargin.
My youngest son was desperate for tracksuit bottoms for wearing around home, so I had a look in Oxfam and found a pair of Nike ones for £1.20. I washed them, put them in his drawer and he thought they were brilliant! (Saw a similar pair in JJB Sports for £21.99!!!)
It is the little things that make the difference and the best thing of all for kids is still free of charge - 'Your time and attention!'. It works in our house!

My kids like nothing better than a bike ride to the moors and then a picnic (flammin weather permitting). we also take tent to exmoor and camp out for the night, have a camp fire and throw away barbeque. It doesn't have to cost a fortune."I will be debtfree":p0

I think you need to pass that tissue my way too :'(
My mum too struggled a lot when my sister and I were young children and we couldn't always have things, but she tried very hard for us. It's that memory that sticks with me, not the memory of the plastic toys and other stuff that she did manage to buy.
I think you're going to raise some very lucky children to have a mother like you
