I have just been to North Weald market in Essex and i found a guy selling reconditioned dvd recorders for £40. They are in excellent condition and my one works fine.

They are this exact model

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009WFT82/pricerunner-21/ref%3Dnosim/203-7083831-4467962

I hope someone else is able to get one.

Carrie.

I would be careful buying a reconditioned DVD recorder as the warranty would reflect that as a second hand item - something like 2 days cash return if it's faulty and after that time you'd only be entitled to a credit note (or as it's off a market probably nowt!)

My dad's DVD recorder cost £99 from EmpireDirect and after 6 months it just stopped working. Thankfully they just replaced the unit and he's had no further problems 10 months on. It is a great bargain at £40 but since you can get them for £60-£70 new I'm not sure it's really worth it?

North Weald market are very good, i have bought many electrical things from there and if they stop working then the seller always gives you your money back. Its not like a normal market, they have rules and regs are they loose there (most soughted after) pitch.
