I sat down yesterday and worked out, to my amazement, that my OH and i have not spent on any of our CC since Nov last year, nor have we actually taken anything out of his bank  the only things coming out of his account have been the DD and CC payments.
Now this may sound like we have made a good start but he is always overdrawn as the outs are bigger than the ins, so each week the overdraft creeps up slowly.............. we should be able to pay it off completely within the next two weeks when our payment from some shares we have sold comes through, but i worry that in a few months we will be in the same situation.
I have been on here for the last couple of weeks and have put what i can in place to reduce what i can and make a little where possible. Still plenty to do of course and on the whole i have felt positive about it all. But right now after sitting down and looking at certain things i wonder if all i am doing is RUNNING ON THE SPOT

Queen B, Im sure youve been down the SOA route? Is there nothing else you can cut back on?
Personally, for example, Ive never bothered with the £2 club for example, I need the money to pay for other stuff, too badly.
Hugs hun but there MUST be a solution somewhere
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
and also to say, your getting no worse, are all your cards etc on 0% ? if youve a poor credit rating sometimes you jsut have to tread water a bit till you can transfer.... ?? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? I have only been on here for about 2 weeks and still sorting through all my paperwork so that i can sit down and finally do a SOA, can't believe how unorganised i have let myself become
Have cut back on as much as i can so far, but still have ISP to change and gas/electric provider to look into.
its the CC that are really the problem, poor credit rating means we are finding it difficult to get any new lower interest ones and so the min we pay each month is paying off interest and not much more
Sending away for our credit file next week to see just how bad things are and what possibilities there are.
Only real solution we can see at the moment to help us make a meaningful difference is for us to increase our incomings and that is not proving easy to do, hopefully by may we will be in a better position and i can make a few steps forward.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Queen B let me give you a litlle kick up the bum if I may!!!
Get that SOA posted on here as soon as you can. You are always going to feel like you are running on the spot until you have the SOA here, and working towards it. I felt like I was in exactly your position, until I did my SOA and now me & OH know exactly where we are ( apart from the tescos debacle today were we overspent massively
DO IT DO IT Your among mates here!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

QueenB, please post your SOA.
My lightbulb moment was last November and I did most of my cutting down aloneand things looked OK - they were balancing (aka standing still). Then I found this site and I still thought I was doing OK.
I then decided to post my SOA to see if I could do better - and I am gobsmacked at what I've achieved with the advice of the good people on here.
And it's not just about shopping around for cheaper stuff, like house insurance, it's about looking at what do you get for the price. I've just cut £6 a month (off the cheapest policy I could find) by taking off accidental damage to contents - I only added it when my son was born as I thought we might get a broken video recorder, etc! But bottom line, I don't really need it.
Savings so far in less than 2 weeks of being on this site = OVER £1,600 P.A.
Everyone is here to help you.Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
Yep, quite agree....get it all down here in black and white and then you will "know your enemy" so to speak! Only when you "know your enemy" can you do something about it!:snow_grin"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow........":snow_grin0
