Hi All,
My name is paul i am new to this site as i feel i've i have no where else to turn.
My problem started in december 2008 when i was made redundant from my job in russia where i worked in the oil and gas industry. I owe £4500 on an american express airmiles duo card and could not remake the mininum payment now the card is over the credit limit.and the intrest has now put the card up to £4793 but me being me i chose to bury my head and it has took me till today to try and tackle the underlying issue. i am working again now but did not start the job until march 2009 plus all my other creditors were baying for blood and with all the extra money on top of there payments i've simply backed myself into a corner and can't seem to get out.
Is there anyone outhere with a solution??????????????????????????

Ok Thanks,

You will need to come up with a repayment plan with all of your creditors based on what you can afford to pay back. Like Johala says, the people in the DFW forum see this everyday and know exactly how the process works, so repost in there and you will get good advice. Good luck and well done for getting your head out of the sand.0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.0

Hi,
I had some debt issues with American Express in 2008. I would telephone Amex, explain your situation and I would try to appeal to their better judgement by assuring them you don't wish to default on payment and wish to arrange a payment plan to avoid defaulting.
Any subsequent communications I have had with Amex have been very pleasurable - the staff are always polite and eager to help. I should imagine that if you phone to attempt a payment plan they will be willing to help; banks only get pushy if you bury your head in the sand (which we all do now and again!)
Your problems will get sorted and you are more than capable of getting back on the ladder to sound finances - be proactive, be positive and it'll happen.0
