If something like that happens than any Income Payments Agreement that is in place can be reduced or more likely payments suspended completely.

The 3 years continues to run while any payments are suspended, so It won't extend the 3 year period at all or mean extra payments later. :)

I am currently on a debt repayment scheme with the CCCS. Will the IPA payment level be similar to the amount i pay at the moment or will it increase?

Also - is some of the debt written off as i will not be able to pay the full amount over 3 years by any stretch of the imagination.

How to they determine your IPA amounts

    Thank you

The budget you may be expected to live from is usually more generous for an IPA than the DMPs arranged by CCCS.

Plus The OR would only want 50 - 70 % of any surplus income rather than all of it.

An IPA is designed to allow someone who can afford to to contribute towards the costs of their bankruptcy, and to creditors as well if possible.

But that is the only way creditors will ever get paid. If anything they may get under an IPA does not cover the original debts, then they are written off.

Ah ok so if i am currently paying £150 ( my disposable income) to the cccs i would only pay £75 a month as an ipa.

Does it come straight out of my wages?

    Thanks so much

No you would pay it bt DD to a firm called Moon Beever, who collects on the OR's behalf.

If you put up a SoA, someone can look at it for you as if you were going BR.

Have you discussed the fact you are thinking of BR with CCCS. You will need to take some advice on the matter from someone as your petion could be refused until you have.
