WOW...and Thankyou!

Hi,

I just wanted to share with you some really good news. After all, everyone likes good news!

At the start of the year, having been using up ALL my pay each month (and sometimes more) , I decided that now was the time to really take a good look at myself and my spending. I searched many websites and found some really useful advice (not sure if I'm allowed to mention it, but The Fool is quite good).

Well, MSE is certainly the most useful by a long way. So I started using some of the advice. Cutting bills in half here and there. Shopping smarter. REALLY looking at what I was spending and what I owed.

Well March was probably the month where I really put everything into action. The results?
At the end of the month I had just over £350 left in my account.
I had £80 left in my various 'Pots'
I've paid off my student loan giving me an extra £100 pounds from now on.
I've analysed my spending and can see how I can actually not spend another £200 on top of that!
Overall? I've got a chance at the end of april of having about £700 left!!!

I'm amazed. Absolutely amazed. :j

And make no mistake about it. It's all down to you guys and this website. Thankyou!

Next targets? Smash into those debts! :T

    Hi and welcome

Congratulations too! I totally agree with you, I used similar sites to yourself which at the time seemed great for looking for cc deals, insurance etc, and then I found this place - and yes, I went WOW too :rotfl:

Could hardly believe my eyes (or my pocket) that there was (a) so much support, advice, help and (b) there's zillions of ways to save money and pay off that debt quicker.

I just wonder why it took so long to find this site!

Thats great news - I think when you have your 'lightbulb moment' it does take some thorough organisation and constant jiggling etc.. till you find whats right for you - you certainly seem to have mastered it........i'm in the process now but already for the first time in ages have money in the bank towards bills at the end of April.....i've still got some catchin up to do but i am really focused...no holidays etc for me for a while although my ultimate aim is to take my hubby away for his 40th in June 2007, i wont have paid all my debts off by then but at least a big chunk will have gone and i can save in the meantime aswell.......so thanks everyone and MSE especially........dotty xx

    :j well done LeShark :j
I was given the details of this site months and months ago and added it to my favorites........but never looked at it :D I looked about a month ago and am addicted to MSE now. I couldnt understand why I always used my overdraft to the hilt every month and a credit card too. I thought I was on a good salary and got good bonuses but I was always on catch up. In the space of a month I have completely sorted myself out - thanks to this site and the brilliant people on it. I have just posted on the 'how much have you saved' thread and I calculate that the savings per year ( when I change my mortgage in October ) will be £6500.00 :T . I would normally be overdrawn now till the 10th when I get paid - for once I have money in my account and it should ( fingers crossed ) be enough to see me through to payday.

Good luck for the future :j
