My mother in law has been paying into Secure Homes for years , i dont know much about it but from what i can gather basically its a service which you pay into and they pay your bills out of it.
There is a charge for this , its not clear exactly how much per month she has to pay but my concern is , surely if i can work out her incomings / outgoings then it will work out cheaper for her rather than paying into this service.
Does anyone know much about Secure Homes and any pros and cons.
Thanks in advance

Both my mother and I have been with Secure Homes for many years and find this way of paying our bills very easy to do and stress free. Yes there is a charge for running your account about 1.00 per month, you can also cover yourself for redundancy/sickness/accident, I have claimed under this a few times and they have paid out with no fuss. I know if I put my money into a separate account to cover bills that when hard times occur I would dip into it this way I pay a lump sum each month and have peace of mind that I have no nasty surprises coming in. You can check up on your account very easily by phone or internet, your account is reviewed yearly and when I have been in credit they will forward you a cheque if you request it. I would reccomend them, they do have a website address https://www.securehomes.net Hope this helps.MFiT-T7 #17 (Jan 2025) $193k (Apr) $177k (July) $159k (Oct) $139,900 (Jan 2026) $123,000 (April)$104,700

Have just looked at the website and found their scale of charges, not sure if these are the ones your MIL is paying (maybe when she signed up they were different) but current charges are £14/month or £4/week. Seems to me to be worth your while sorting it out yourself, and setting up DDs to the relevant companies.

I dont use them myself, but they do seem to be used quite a lot by people in our borough ( I work for the council) and Secure Homes pay their council tax bills.
We have had problems in the past where the customer has paid SH the money but SH home for whatever reason have been late paying, leading to our customers getting reminders etc.
My personal view would be to set up a D/D and pay them yourself rather than pay someone else to do it - who may not do it on time and get you into more trouble.£2.00 Coin Savers Club - £72.00 :j :j
