Pension Credit re timeout for children

Hi, can someone explain the workings of pension credits in regard to taking time out of work to have children?

The case in point is my daughters case. She has recently had her 2nd child and has been of work for 2years now, and does not intend to return for at least another 3.

What does she need to do regarding appling for some sort of pension credit?
Is it applied automatically?
How long would it cover?
Or am I barking completely up the wrong tree?, the change in number of years qualification covering all this?
:beer:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

    I'll assume you are talking about Home Responsibilities Protection rather than pension credits.

    It's all answered here;

    H'mmm, after a quick look, anyone detail in a sort of nutshell what a female needs to do to maintain pension qualification when "off" with kids?

    Sorry to be thick:rotfl:

    She needs to be claiming Child Benefit in her own name and then she should be covered automatically.

    Maybe if she gives the Pension service a ring to make sure of this it may put her mind at rest.
