Hi,
I am looking to purchase light bulbs from Taiwan.
I have searched high and low and cannot find an answer to my question.
If I was to purchase £300 worth of light bulbs from Taiwan how much in extra taxes and fees would I have to pay to import them into the UK?
I have purchase one and from what I have gathered I will only have to pay 15% VAT plus courier handling fees.
Is there a table with set percentages for electrical items, clothes, books etc?
Thank you.

Have you ever imported anything before?
If your parcel is worth less than 18 GBP you probably won't get involved in customs procedures.
More than that and the fun starts.
Why do you want to get these "bulbs" from Taiwan by courier (?!)
When they arrive you will be liable for VAT & Duty and someone will have to do the customs entry to clear them. Serious demurrage type charges will be created if you mess it up.
Electricity is thought of as dangerous, so everything electrical is wrapped in red tape. Will these light bulbs comply with EU regulations and markings. For example do you understand WEEE - no I don't either.
Have a read of some of this and see if you can find you light bulbs in here somewhere.
