Do you get BR status right away ?

Once you have been to the court and had your BR appointment are you then BR or do you have to wait for a decision by post or something ? Do they tell you right away that is.
Thanks in advance.

Depends on the Court. Most are straight away if you are petitioning your own case....form stamped & you get your BR number & off you go.

Sometimes I have seen where it is sent/or collected after the event.

Call your court & check procedures.

As far as I know it is automatic once you are made BR by the judge - you should be given a BR certificate. There should be some experts along to clarify.

You are BR once you have that stamped court document in your hand (or whatever time it says on it). That's what happens in England, not sure if it's different in Scotland

Think its a little different in scotland......think you receive a letter shortly after completing the BR paperwork from the AIB declaring you bankrupt

    I could be wrong....
