Bit of Bother with Empirestores Please help

Options
I recently ordered a t shirt using this website. As i confirmed my address and everything I thought it would lead on to a page where you could enter your credit card details. But it didnt. I have recieved a confirmation email about buying the product it says it has been charged to my account. I didnt give any credit card details. I cant log in to the website as i dont know where to find my customer reference number.

Please help what shall i do? What will happen?

You'll just receive the item and pay for it later
    There will always be:

Ryanski - when you go to checkout I assume you clicked on the 'New Customer? Click Here' button if it was your first order with them? If you did this, at the top of the next screen there are two options:
1/ Add to a New Credit Account?
    2/ Pay by credit/debit card?

Now, if you don't click on either of these options, the website is set up to assume that you want to set up a credit account with Empirestores, which means them doing a credit check on you. This would have involved you completing fields for time lived at current address, previous address if less than 3 years at current one, etc, and the option to take out Total Cover.

If the above is what you filled in, then you have actually applied for a credit account with them. If you go to their website, add something to your basket, go to checkout and then click on the New Customer button you will see right at the bottom of the page that there is a lot of small print about credit reference agency searches, etc.

You won't be able to access your account online until you have been allocated a Customer Reference number - you should be receiving a welcome pack containing all of the relevant info shortly. HTH.

    Hi Ryanski,

I seem to remember from another thread that you said you were 14 years old.

If you have entered in your own details on the Empire Stores website, then chances are that you will not pass their credit check and your order will be cancelled.

If you have put in mum or dad's name, then they will have a credit check done on them and they will have an Empire Stores credit account opened in their name if they prove credit-worthy. This application will go down in their credit record.

If you pay in full with a debit card once the goods arrive, you will not be charged any interest.

    HTH

Yeah i am 14 years old and i put my name in and everything. But i lied about my age which i usually do on these things otherwise you cant buy from these websites. I was going to purchase something with one of those top up debit cards that i had got.Do you think that because I lied about my age and how long I have lived at this house they will cancel the order?

    Thanks for the information.
If theres anything else i need to do please pm me.

if you are ordering this stuff and you are under age then you are being v silly as im sure that as you are a minor the debt gets transfered into you parents name and that is not fare for them to wake up one day with court threats comming to them think about what you are doing first

I haven't heard of this. A debt is the responsibility of the debtor alone and being a minor shouldn't make a difference. I can see that a court might order parents to pay a debt if it is likely collusion has taken place to obtain goods and/or services without having to pay.

Ryanski what you are doing is illegal and you could end up facing criminal charges, never mind any civil action that might be taken.
