Scottish Life Profit Builder

Options
Hi,

can anyone offer any advice here please. I have a Scottish Life profitbuilder house purchase plan which is no longer tied to any property.

The final value was to cover £18205 in 2015. The current surrender value is around £4300 with a projected value at 4% £6770, 6% £7160 and 8% £8380. The payments each month are £19.32

As it is unit linked and a managed fund(this is what it says in the letter) is it worth keeping the policy until the stock market FT index rises to over maybe 5000 points or 6000 points or will it not make much difference and so cash in now? The reason I ask is someone told me that these policies are worth cashing in when the FT index is high- is this correct or is this policy around its maximum?

Thanks for any advice.

I'd have thought so, best to monitor it and make sure it is rising appropriately.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

    Thank you Edinvestor,

I know you cannot predict any forcasts which I appreciate, however is the increase likely to be significant to warrant continuing paying into this?
Do you think that it would ever reach its target amount(or certainly get close) if the FT index increased and the economy recovered or has this one seen better days!

I would be more than happy to withdraw and look at putting the cash into something else.
