Come on guys and gals, lets get back to the reason this thread was created and not hijack the thread.

McKneff is entitled to their opinion. As they have no advice to offer, they have already said they will be leaving this thread - no reason for personal attacks.

When i get out of debt, i hope i am still able to post on this board to assist others. Experience is often the best teacher and McKneff has hopefully learned how to not fall back into the trap.

This thread was originally asking what the options were. I think most have been covered but if the OP still has questions on any of them he is entitled to ask and receive civil and unjudgemental advice. I'm sure that the OP would love to be able to pay back the full amount, but if that's not going to be an option, we need to advise what the other options may be.

She would be? Even if the agreement was drafted taking into account both our earnings?
I'll have to try and get my hands on the deeds and see what the agreement says.
Thanks for your help George, your info is really useful.
At least I have people willing to give me sound advice.

Innocentsi, i would strongly advise putting a post on the bankruptcy board. I have read quite a few cases where one person has gone bankrupt and then the wife is chased for the full debt because it was a joint loan or mortgage.

Thanks George. I've already sent a post in the bankruptcy forum. I'm just waiting for a response.
    Thanks agai for your help.
