Cheap Wrapping Paper!

Does anyone know good places for cheap wrapping paper in bright, but plain colours? I'm looking to buy rolls and Clintons etc can be fairly expensive! Would usually have gone to Woolies

I'm based in central/North london so info on non-high street shops in that area would also be gratefully received!

I've found Tesco and Sainsburys to be pretty cheap and even WHS do some cheap stuff - sorry but don't know if they've got plain colours in now but I bought some plain blue stuff ages ago from WHS and it lasted for ages.

Also, if you're not bothered about it being wrapping paper but would accept wrapping tissue, Ebay have loads of suppliers in lots of different colours (come to think of it, maybe the same is true for wrapping paper).

Yeah I would also recommend supermarkets and the pound shops, do big rolls of wrapping paper and gift bags etc which may help.

Poundland have a good selection at the moment, they seem to have bought lots of the Woolworths old stock.

Hi!
This is of absolutely no use to you at the moment whatsoever BUT I buy all my wrapping paper in the January sales, I select Christmas paper that is not christmassy if that makes sense! The paper tends to be very good quality and pretty colours also often is shiny or sparkley but suitable for men or ladies.
Just an idea I wanted to share x x

Asda also do Cheap and cheerfull wrapping paper some are less that 50p and others over a £1

if you have young kids then they will have a huge amount of paintings/drawings/completed colouring books, when I am wrapping for family or childrens birthdays I use the kids drawings as wrapping paper, the kids think its great, family and friends love it and it makes good use of paper that would be recycled anyway, and its free! if we have no drawings lying around (this rarely happens) then the kids get an afternoon making the wrapping paper, double bonus, keeps them entertained and wrapping paper sorted.
I also save all tissue paper that comes my way, I recycle all wrapping paper I can, you can sellotape squares of oddments together to make "patchwork" wrapping paper, again this is ok for family members who aren't too fussy and kids like it.
Brown paper tied up with ribbon or even string.
I have even wrapped presents in fabric, a silk shirt that had a stain on the collar so couldn't be worn again or sent to the charity shop was washed, cut, use the scissors that zig-zag the edges so they don't fray if you have them (can't remember what they are called) and tie with ribbon, I cut out those annoying bits of ribbon that are inside clothes for hooking onto a coathanger and use these to tie up a "bundle" of tissue or fabric if the ribbon is not long enough to go round the parcel, nice fabric works great with smellies or chocolates, makes a cheaper present look quite indulgent.
