If you arerecieving a pension from them i think offerring to repay over 8 months is acceptable. Ask them to deduct straight from your pension that way they know they are going to get their money with no hassle.
If they get funny tell them to sue you and see how much they get per month from the county courts!!!!
Just a point they can't deduct anything from your pension without your prior permission just in case theytry that one.
