I have a quick question, and please dont laugh at me..
I want to make a bean salad for my barbie this evening. Ive got lots of tins of different type beans in my cupboard, but my question is, do they need to be cooked, or can I serve them cold out of the tins?
:o:o:o
Thanks....

The tinned beans are cooked already
So straight from tins is fine - I do this with tuna kidney bean salad all the time.
Personally I wouldn't add cold baked beans to the salad thoughworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

I always rinse the beans after they've drained because I find that the ones at the bottom of the tin have a thick sludge on them.0

Hi Vik.:hello:
You could always thread them on skewers for a novelty kebab.;)0 -
if you throw in some chopped peppers, onion and sweetcorn as well, it adds exra flavour and is yum...0

I made a mint dressing to go with a mixed bean salad the other day for a picnic we had.
Add a good handful of mint into a mini food processor,
Add a good amount of olive oil.
Add a teaspoon of mint sauce (for the vinegar and flavour).
Add a quarter teaspoon of sugar.
Salt and pepper to taste.
I whizzed this up and poured over the top of some mixed beans and sweetcorn, stirring well. It worked very well and was delicious chilled! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
