Last month I spent £120 on food shopping and this is for 2 adults, breakfast, lunch & dinners.

I normally set aside £150 and if I come under that I will save the rest of the money or treat myself :D

Forgive me if im on the wrong board...
Im trying to work out a weekly budget in order to pay off our credit card debt.

Is £50 a week, enough for food shopping for 2 adults and 3 cats??
Ive also allocated £30 a week each for "pocket money".

What are your food shopping budgets?

    Many thanks

Or, in other words, no, you can't name one! :)

I think The Guardian's website is good too, and probably fits all your criteria. But as Kalaika says, media reporting is quite a personal thing. If tabloids are more your thing, then yes I would agree their websites are not good from what I've seen!

Also, whilst it's not a newspaper, bbc.co.uk/news is very good for up-to-date news.

Personally I can't be bothered with actual newspapers, I'd much rather read the news online as it happens. Newspapers are big and awkward and wasteful and out-of-date (in my opinion :)).

When Im on an economy drive I take lunches to work all the time then give myself a pound a day for treats. eg chocolate/ paper etc. I take books now more, so I always have something to read without spending money. I buy Private eye though and that takes a few lunch hours to get through. I also get my mags from either a lady on the market that does previous months mags for cheap ( ie 3 glossies for £2) and I get psychologies on subs ( with free gift from on here) I often get the mag offers on the grabbit board bringing in nice posh toiletries- keeps the food budget low ;) Also buy toietries on offer, and in places like HBs/ £1 shops and boots clearance.

Its totally possible to do it on what you say, if you are thrifty with your ingredients and dont waste. Use tips on the od style board to minimise wastage. Thats the key to keeping your food budget under control/

Also see if you can get your pet food cheaper elsewhere I started buying mine for our dog from Pets at home of all places and found a lot cheaper than supermarket and food she gets now is organic.

Shopping around is key too, picking up offers verywhere and meal planning them well ( ie not spending moeny on ingredients you dont use often)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
