Try me love me?

I thought Id start a thread for our experiences of "try me love me" guarantees on some own brand food items Ive seen. (Ive seen this in Saisburys & asda)

I only noticed as I bought some imitation sainsburys frazzles and they really werent great. I tried them and I didnt love them! :rotfl:
Must admit was slightly worried/ embarrased about asking for the money back. Do you need a reciept? :o

How are the staff at the customer service desk when you bring items back? Is there quibbling? Do they jsut give you the cash...??

All stories welcome!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I only take things back that are absolutely disgusting or quite expensive. What response you get depends on the store policy.

The last item I returned was Asda wraps which tasted like mushed up cardboard; so inedible that I had them open over two weeks and no mould grew! The Customer Service advisor had a giggle with me and didn't bat an eyelid. You must return the packaging and some of its contents.

I used to sometimes return the packaging of gone-off products to Tesco, e.g. fruit that went mouldy instead of ripening. But they started making you keep the product so someone could inspect it - which is not exactly hygeinic in your fridge - AND insisting you had your receipt, which is illegal if an item is 'faulty'.

  • There was a leaflet on the neck of Lloyd Grossman pasta sauces. Think you needed the receipt. Threw mine away because i'm useless at keeping receipts.

Don't get me started on Asda bready products that don't go mouldy (when they should). I bought some fresh for a week loaf of bread, after 2.5 weeks it hadn't gone mouldy. I don't trust it anymore.

I did buy a wrap at Asda that was absolutely disgusting (when I was working there), but I didn't take it back, I would have felt embarassed lol.

We never used to take anything back that we didnt like but now we do. We was embaressed at first but not our local Morrisons will take most things back even without a receipt. I dont feel guilty now if we have something that tastes horrible. Take them back !!

A few weeks back I purchased bags of frozen diced lamb in Tesco(15 bags),I decided to cook one lot for Sunday lunch,it was in the slow cooker overnight and when I dished it up it was as tough as old boots:eek:.I had thrown my receipt away but Tesco customer services said they would refund it on a gift card:j.So a few days later I sent my husband in to sort out the refund and he came back with £32.00 cash,I only paid 61p a bag.
