    Also have a look at limited liability partnerships. They are less onerous than companies but haven't different taxation rules. Being a company director is not something to take on lightly as there are loads of responsibilities that go with it, a lot of which you can get fined for not doing.

    If you think there is a serious chance this enterprise is going to go bust then I'd question your wisdom of starting it to be honest.... or find alternative ways of starting the business without needing to be incorporated :)
  • I think its worth paying a small amount to make sure that the forms are done correctly. Companies House will return your forms if they are not correct, and will advise you as to how to proceed, but a continual return and submit procedure could be very time consuming. Getting it right first time will allow you to concentrate on the other aspects of getting your new company trading!
  • its also best not to register your ltd company at your home address.
    even if you operate from home, you can register your company address at a different location eg London.
    It might cost more, but its worth it.
