Just watched the 14 episodes over the last three nights! Its fab and I really can't see why it was axed. Its clever and funny and with excellent characters. I had to go out and buy Serenity last night as I need another fix tonight!

Bought and watched the serious recently, I would give it 3 stars out of 5.

It is not really Sci-fi, it is a strange mixture of 'relationships', comedy and cowboys, they just happen to live and travel between places in a space-ship.
There is nothing innovative about it, there are no aliens and nothing unusual.

It is an entertaining watch, more like 'Friends' in space or any other soap opera type series.

Most suitable for woman I would say, if you are a Sci-fi fan I think you would be disappointed with Firefly.

Before I get flamed if you are a woman and a Sci-fi nut I think you will also be disappointed.

I'd personally add another star to that! And I know that this isn't a "dvd reviewing" forum but I've got to disagree.

Personally I think it is innovative in the fact that it fuses the past present and future and creates a believable future-world which is all the better for unrealistic latex aliens!

I do like sci-fi and I think that the big-screen version of the series did everything that I hoped the first three Star Wars films would do.

PS - Not female!

This has been around (the Amazon Jersey offer) for a little while. I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago.

Just finished the 3rd dvd, the show rocks!!! Shame they never made any more than two seasons. Also the movie is great.
