    Hi

It was an Alba SYS1773CDMP3 MP3 Micro System. Same as this one on argos for £30 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5133082/c_1/2|category_root|Home+entertainment+and+sat+nav|12108813/c_2/3|cat_12108813|Home+audio|12108918.htm?Price+Cut=1

Like I mentioned there was also a Phillips one going for £5 too, it seemed to be the ones that had a tape player on them( given that tapes are more or less redundant now).

You say it's got USB in your first post, but I can't see a USB socket on it anywhere - is it round the back?

With the announncement that analog radio is being switched off in 2015 too this will surely lead to more bargains ahoy for systems with FM/AM radios.

Indeed. Plus there will be a few DAB radio bargains too, as I believe the broadcasting system they are planning to introduce in 2015 will not be compatible with virtually all the existing sets that have been bought!

USB is on the front jsut below the tuning knob, so that Argos one is not an exact match.

I hope they make the dab signal better before the switchover, I bought a little DAB radio a couple of months ago, and all I get is glitchy sounding transmission with like 8 stations! :(
  • Any body found any in South Yorkshire Morrison's ?

Have you tried it in a different part of the house? If we have ours in the "wrong" place in the house we have no signal, but we found a couple of really good places, one being in the kitchen window!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I think that price is amazing! Great for a kids bedroom or in the kitchen, actually anywhere in the house at that price. Anyone seen any in the Glasgow area? Would the bigger stores be more likely to have them do you think?
