Hi there,
I am resigning from my current job to take up a position in a new firm however new my new monthly pay date is causing confusion and I want to be sure I have covered my bases to pay my monthly outgoings!
My question is - if I am starting my new job on 20th JULY and my first pay day with my new firm is 11th AUGUST will I just be paid pro-rata for those 17 working days (20/07 - 11/08) or will I get paid for the whole of AUGUST plus the 10 days in JULY?
BAsically - if my pay date is the 11th is that
(a) paying me from the 11th to the 11th; or
(b) paying on the 11th for 1st - 30/31st?
Sorry if thats confusing - any payroll experts out there?!?!

I'm no pay roll expert and it would depend on the company you work for but I do know my employer pays us 2 weeks in arrears 2 weeks in advance. So in your situation I'd be getting the whole month.
Phone HR/payroll and ask them how they operate.0 -
This would be company policy and you would need to ask your new employer.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

Just because the company pays 11th August, that doesn't mean they pay UP TO 11th August.
Some companies pay in the middle of the month for the previous month.
What is written in your contract? this would be explained...0 -
I have worked for 2 organisations who paid on the 15th for the current month, but in order to confirm that, you will need to read what your contract says.
I would imagine the most likely scenario is that you will be paid for the whole month plus the July days you are owed in August salary.
