what diet??

I am really confused with all the diets that are available. I am 27 with a 10 month old baby who is currently breastfeeding twice a day. I am 5ft 5 and weigh 15 1/2 stone (I am so ashamed!).

Can anyone recommend a diet that will work and make sure my daughter and me get the nutrition we need?

    Hi,

i know how low you feel when you're carrying excess weight- i've lost 5 stone myself. I joined slimming world when i was breastfeeding as i wanted a safe way to loose weight that wouldn't put my milk production at risk. it was great- i ate more than ever before, felt healthier and actually enjoyed it! it's also approved by the royal college of midwives as a safe way to loose weight while breastfeeding.

please don't worry about joining a class- it seems a scary move but the groups are full of kind people who are there to support, not judge.

if you search google for 'tamworth herald katie whitehead' you'll find my story as was printed in the local paper

i really hope you find the support you need, all the best with your journey x
  • thanks Katie I have read your story, you have done really well!! I hope to get there one day I need to I feel so tired and huge at the moment! Thanks for sharing!

I second the Slimming World idea! I've been doing Slimming World at home for 53 weeks and lost 4.5 stone with very little hassle.
Once you get your head around the plan and see the results, I find it really easy to stick to.
There are often nursing mothers asking advice on the forum on here - seems a popular plan in that circumstance, so may well be worth a look for you!

    Good luck on your journey!
  • thank you both, its really hard to know what diet is ok when breastfeeding!! I'm hopefully going to start today so wish me luck!!:j
