experian credit report doesnt show me my default??!

hi,

I have an issue with my experian credit report, when searching my credit report it seems almost perfect but when applying for a mortgage with 2x companies they have both said no as apparently I have a default against my name that is 'unsettled' however the companies wont tell me anything else except I have default but won't tell me from what company etc. I have put every address in my report and been as close to the dates as I can but still no default is showing, any credit I have is always paid so im thinking its an unpaid bill which has been sent after I have moved out of somewhere but I cant track it down! I have spoken to Experian almost everyday but they are no use. I can see the companies have searched me as they both show on my report but now I am stuck, does anyone know who else I can talk to or how I can find out where this default has come from??

Experian aren't the only CRA and not all lenders use all CRAs. Your default probably shows up on Equifax or the 3rd main one (can't remember the name of it).

I think the third one is Callcredit

That reference to MCL is ancient!! (2001)

MCL Software is currently part of Experian.

I've seen all 3 reports and amazingly enough I have no defaults! Lloyds also did a search yesterday for my dad to get the mortgage and it showed the eaxct same default against his name!! We share the same initials and address but you can see from both experian reports that we have been searched separately so they haven't just searched me again... Now we think its a problem with lloyds system but they are not owning up, does anyone know who I go 2 in lloyds 2 sort something like this??
