Making a table plan - any ideas, card size etc

Hi,

I am making my sister's seating plan and was hoping someone could give me a few tips. Does anyone know what size card I should get, there are 8 table plus a top table. Also she is having round tables - does that mean you're supposed to have them round on table plan cos it would be so much easier to do them in a vertical oblong etc

Most of the ebay ones are A3 but I thought that would be too small so did mine in A2. I got a piece of grey mount board from hobby craft and covered it with red metallic paper. I then printed my names on ivory paper and stuck them on. My tables were round but I just did the names in list form on the plan, which I think is fairly standard.

hi, dont know if you have heard of the confetti website for wedding stuff - try to google 'confetti print centre' and they have some helpful templates

i bought mine off ebay and then mounted it on a3 card i also bought on ebay, you could mount it on bigger card, no you dont have to have round tables on the planner i would say it would be hard to get the names on a circular plan.
this is the one i bought for £10 and it was absolutely gorgeous.

Get down to a hobbycraft shop, I have just bought everything I need for mine and it came in at less than a tenner including a big thick piece of card to mount it on, a massive sheet of coloured card and a pack of ivory card to print on.

I bought my big piece of burgundy card from The Range, I hink it was about £3. I am having circular tables on mine and am fixing the names with velcro so when I am doing my plan it is easier to seat people and move them about instead of wasting loads of paper lol!! as others have said get a piece of a3 or a2 mount board, from somewhere like range/hobby craft or a local stationers
you can get it in all sorts of colours, so you should be able to find something suitable

You can get other cards and papers from the paper mill in all different colour, in a4 and a5 sizes

You chould be able to find 'decorations' on ebay, in range etc

I would say you dont have to do circles just because your tables are round, just do the rectangles so yo ucan keep it quite simple to make, that way you can concentrate more on making it all look pretty



oh and yes make sure you show us what it looks like when you are done

You dont have to do round tables, its just i like things to match - i am a bit odd like that though!

I wasn't having a table plan, my venue prints one off, but I was in Hobbycraft and saw a pack to make up your own plans and thought that a printed one will look pretty rubbish really.

But, they never had any in my colour so I decided to create my own. (Names have been blurred for obvious reasons lol):D



The tables have been attached with sticky pads to give them a 3-D effect, and the names are fixed with little velcro tabs so I can still move people about
