Hi Everyone!
You all seem so enthusiatic and in control and that's where i want to be but i need some help and advice! I have a credit card debt of about 3700 on HSBC and am only managing to clear the interest every month. I also had a Barclaycard debt of about 900 which i forgot about when i moved (that sounds so lame but is exactly what happened!). So the debt was sold to Capquest. I've now paid that off after someone drove into the back of my car  and i got 750 for whiplash. Feel really good about paying that off in full. :j I want to apply for the Barclaycard promo 0% for 10 months. BIG QUESTION and this may stupid to you guys IS AM I STILL A CURRENT CUSTOMER OF BARCLAY CARD???? Or did they close my account when they sold mxy debt????
many thanks for the support, just reading the posts has helped me!

I'm not 100% sure but I think they will take a look at your history with them & say no way.
Sorry if it's not what you want to hear but they will be concerned about payments defaulting again, (regardless of the reason).0 -
I think Ceri might be right, they are bound to have record of what's happened with them in the past.
Have you requested a copy of your credit file from companies like experian and equifax? You really need to see what shape that is in before making any applications. If the missed payments etc were within the last six years they will still be on there and it will be hard to get credit at any good rate.
You should contact barclaycard and, if the account is not closed, certainly do it. I would guess that it is not still open because they obviously aren't in a position to want to offer you more credit. It is always worth closing any unused accounts because too much available credit may count against you in credit scoring.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling! Why don't you post a statement of affairs: incomings, outgoings, debts, aprs etc and we can see if there are ways you could save money/cut back and find extra to start really paying off the debt rather than the interest. Obviously you may want to switch to a 0% card at some point but too many refused searches wouldn't look good.
Right.... shutting up now! :rotfl:
