Little tip for cheaper parcelforce deliveries.

I sell a fair few things on ebay and the larger items I use parcelforce. The way I pay for this is through Paypal, its a fairly simple process, beside the transaction ID you press print postage label and away you go. However the Parcelforce prices are wrong:T Last week I sent a 20KG parcel to England for £10, I arranged for it to be collected from my local post office by parcel force, once I brought it in the clerk weighed it and said "Did you pay £20.99" Yes I replied:beer: It had nothing to do with her what I paid, but it just goes to show.

  • What if the person at the other end gets charged to collect the parcel and pay extra postage the same as post office charge for incorrect postage!

The rates charged on Paypal are UK mainland rates, I've sent several items and never had any issues.

Why did you hog it all the way to the P.O.? Collection is from your front door and when you do it online you can `pinch` a little on the weight, the van driver won`t be weighing it you know

i'm pretty sure i recall that parcelforce changed their pricing structure in april resulting in deliveries from Northern Ireland to Great Britain and vice versa now costing the same as deliveries within Great Britain. maybe worth checking their website - might only be for certain categories eg parcelforce24 or 48?

have just checked parcelforce website - same prices across UK. Paypal must be cheaper coz they have a business account with parcelforce. great tip niirelandguy. wonder if it is possible to use paypal to send parcelforce items not bought/sold using paypal?

I'm really glad I found this. I discovered this today when I tried to pay for a 29kg item with the correct dimensions. It onlys costing me £10.99 through paypal but would normally cost £38.99 through Parcelforce online.
I thought it too good to be true but thought I would give it a go.
Now, I've found this it reassures me that it might just work. I let you know if it does.
Has anyone else had any experiences with this services. ( I don't want the person at the other end to have to pay extra!)
Its the first time I've used ebay / paypal postage.
    Thanks
