Help!! prom dress disaster

hope someone can point me in the right direction. I thought i had done so well and gotten things organized early for my daughters first prom. her dress should have been delivered the other week but it didn't arrive and i contacted the company who got back to me straight away saying it had been shipped and due to alterations had taken longer to process etc.

Still didn't receive anything and contacted them again, just checked my email and i have a reply yesterday stating that they have traced it arriving in the uk and that it must have been stopped by custom's.

So now i'm stuck. the prom is on Tuesday, i have very limited funds to by a second outfit and so far all the dresses i have seen on the net are way to expensive and i doubt would be delivered on time and are to far away to collect. i can't take the chance that my daughter is left with no dress to wear. any one know where i could get her one in or near glasgow that won't break the bank.

Daughter is 11 but needs a 13/14yr old.
Thank you

You could try New Look, H&M or Debenhams. Debenhams have some reductions on the website so they will probably have them instore too.

If you are in Glasgow and need alterations done Star Stitch on Miller street can do them in an hour, I get all mine done there.

    Hope you get something!!

Why not put a wanted on your local freecycle?

Hi all thanks for all the ideas on where to go. managed to get her a lovely dress in Matalan(a few tweaks and it will be ace). Luckily hobby craft had a sale on and i got her a tiara and flowers for her hair at half price and i got a discount on her shoes when she told the sales girl what had happened.
My daughter is shameless and will no doubt be a top MSE member in no time :rotfl:
She looks gorgeous and i cant wait for tomorrow to see her hair all done.
