Fix my skin - as cheap as possible

I used to take dianette and my pct wont do Jasmin - too expensive *rolls eyes* so I have a topical antibiotic roll on - only have to buy it every 3 months or and its much better than quinoderm as it doesnt dry out the skin in the same way (I only use it once a day now my skin has settled rather than twice), it also doesnt bleach stuff like those creams
But seriously speak to your GP - there are loads of options and if its affecting your confidence its well worth it - warning though none of them work overnight - usually takes about 1-3 months for it to settle again!
Oh does the roll-on have a name? Sounds interesting and less messy than my quinoderm! The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Ask your GP to refer you to a dermatologist. I suffered for years as well - when I hit 30 most of the spots on my face went away (tho I do still get a few blackheads). My back unfortunately broke out when my face stopped and that didn't go for years (tried everything including many expensive back facials). I eventually got diagnosed with PCOS and got Dianette prescribed which worked for me. One thing I do hate tho is my large pores - anyone tried anything that works (I'm thinking skin peel).Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

I still have bad skin myself at age 28.
I never used to get outbreaks on my cheeks until I changed my pill becaue my old one stop being produced.
I know the spots I get are mainly from stress and they are those spots that are red and under the skin and never seem to produce heads.
I found using Olay Daily skin polisher along with witch stick on the stubbon spots worked really for a while (3 months ish) but this past 2 weeks they are just not moving with the skin care treatment.
A friend told me about The Body Shops Seaweed skin care collection so I ordered the mini kit from them.
I have to say 5 days in my skin is looking a lot better, hell even the deep face wash along with the toner is even removing my black heads.
We'll see how long this last but not bad

I always had good skin as a teenager but as I got older it's got worse. I have patches of blackheads in front of my ears (where young girls get the foundation tidemark IYKWIM!). I get boils there too. I get big spots on my chin, around my jawline and around my nose. I get blackheads on my forehead and nose too.
The best thing I've found for my skin is washing with a really rough flannel and warm water.

You might want to keep your surroundings clean as well, like your bedroom. Change your bedsheets particularly the pillowcase often and use detergent that's very safe for sensitive skin. Have you checked for allergies? some acne and break outs are actually allergic reactions so i've heard, so i guess you could try and look for treatment for that. try using mineral make up as well, it provides adequate coverage but lets your skin breathe easy.0

Hi all,
This is my specialist subject as I tried everything and then started all over and tried it all again.
Then when everything (different skincare regimes, every topical or pill antiobiotic etc) failed and I was so miserable I went on Roaccutane. Now please bear in mind Roaccutane is SERIOUS stuff but it turned off the acne switch for good for me. 5 years on and I still take Dianette but always get compliments on my skin, and only wear make up to cover up my scarring, not the huge lumps I used to get.
I think it's well worth trying every option there is out there first and exhausting all your options. But if you're still at the end of your tether, you need your GP to recommend you to a dermatologist and they'll see if it's appropriate for you. You have sign away nearly all your rights and there are some horror stories out there. The side effects are pretty nasty so you have to make a considered decision if it's worth it for you and do a lot of research first. Luckily only one fairly mild course fixed it for me. The dry skin I'm left with as a result is worth every penny! (I paid as went private at the time, I think it's quite expensive so the NHS don't like handying it out.)
Other than that, the things I wished I knew then:
MOISTURISE - This, as said above by others, is the key. You most definitely do not want to dry out your skin, spots or no spots - this makes it all worse and repeats the cycle.
SAVLON - or similar - use this to heal your spots not drying spot creams - trust me, they'll go quicker and heal without scarring.
DON’T GIVE UP - something out there will fix it and it's worth perservering. I wish I hadn't given up the first time as I then just put up with it for 7 miserable years thinking there wasn't anything I could do about it. 2nd time round - a year was all it took and all gone (that was trying other stuff first before Roaccutane).
I hope this helps,

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!0 -
The best product I've used is Garnier Pure 3 in 1. It's a wash, scrub and mask. If I don't use it for one day even I notice my skin starts to look a bit bad. Since using this product my skin is clear and I haven't had any problems.0
