Sunday Times Where Was I? competition
The competition starts on Sunday and ends on Wednesday
The prize: The winners will stay for three nights, B&B, at the Hôtel Cour des Loges, in the heart of old Lyons. The hotel has been created from restored medieval and Renaissance buildings, and the rooms combine Philippe Starck bathrooms with antiques and, in places, original stonework. It’s a great base from which to explore the city known as France’s gastronomic capital, and is near many of the country’s most celebrated producers of food and wine.
The prize also includes return travel for two from London St Pancras with Rail Europe, travelling in Leisure Select on Eurostar and first class on SNCF services. Return tickets to Lyons start at £99, and the journey, via Paris, can take little more than five hours.
The prize must be taken before December 31, 2009, excluding public holidays, and is subject to availability.
The questions
1 What is the name of the island? Fair Isle
2 Who was the conservationist? George Waterston
