Is Student Loan Repayments Due On A Bonus?

Hi All,

I got a bonus from my employer and was surprised that tax and national insurance together with student loan repayment was taken out of this.

Does anyone know whether this is correct or not?

    Yes, this is classed as income and treated in exactly the same way.

    yes unfortunataly so. When I got paid wrong at the start of my contract and got 2 months in 1 go the following month, they took out a around £100. Normally it is about £3. There was nothing I could do.

    If it wasn't then everyone would be paid £1 a week with a bonus on top.
