Pie? sorry could not resist that. I had a friend once who used to rave about the lovely pigeon pie his mother used to make, never did figure out how the hell she caught them.

I would think that if these are council bins you could ask that they supply lids best wishes hope you get it sorted

even if the council replaced the bins with bins with closing lids
there is no guarantee the local residents would close the bins ,so we still have the pigeons .So back to the original question how do I stop the pigeons having a crap in the yard .

Pigeon pie needs to be made from wood pigeons. The flying rats round the city would make you ill I reckon.

    You could try imitation rooks?

You know anyone with a trained hawk? Make sure there are no pigeon fanciers roundabout first though as they would be likely to produce an air rifle :)

Contact the council vermin control. Pigeons are treated the same as rats etc vermin causing health problems.

unless you live in Ballymena...lol....you would have to take loads of pictures and prove that food on the ground and sitting around is causing problems with rats and other vermin....

I have a neighbour that actively feeds the pigeons with half a loaf on her front lawn...they c@rp everywhere on cars and washing....all our roofs are marked from the acidic deposits they leave....she has even taken to feeding grey squirrels...and Ballymena Council dont want to know....

perhaps if the pigeons were of a certain religion....or got fed and c@rped on a Sunday?
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
