Redundancy?

Hi there is a 50/50 chance i will be made redundant in Oct which would result in 34k payout,i have put in for voluntary redundancy with a few other members of staff unfortunately only one of the two people in at my level will go i wont find out till August. My problem is do i mention to any creditors that i may get redundancy which would make settlement more easy or not mention at all which my brother advices. He also seems to think bankruptcy is the best way forward however i totally disagree it would be damage not only any further financial status it would more importantly lose me friends and put my job in danger if i kept it.

I wouldn't mention anything to your creditors until you know for certain that your job is redundant.
