cash cheques shop question

Hello just wondered if anyone could please advise me.My partner gets paid by cheque and because he needed the money straight away he went to one of thos shops that cashes cheques.All went through ok he got his money paid the fee whatever but two weeks later the shop came back and said the cheque bounced and are now chasing him for the money.
Is it upto him to pay or should they be chasing his boss,the guy who wrote the cheque out?? thanks x

The shop are correct as they gave him the cash, your husband needs to be chasing his boss.

I work in a cheque cashing shop and it is up to your partner to repay back the money.He will have signed a legally binding agreement with the cheque cashing company.Somewhere in the small print it would have stated that in the event of the cheque being dishonoured they would chase your partner for payment.My advice would be to call the cheque cashing shop and offer some weekly or monthly repayments.If you ignore them they will end up passing it on to a debt recovery company which will incur even more charges on top of what your partner already owes.
