Debt Collectors Advice please

I hope this makes sense
My husband's cousin has had a debt collector at his door. For his brothers unpaid gas bill.
Mick's brother ran up a large gas bill and then left his home. He was supposed to be moving to Spain and never got there but left a forwarding address as Mick's (he assumed that they would never chase the debt)
The Gas company are now after their money and have come after Mick for the money.
Both brothers have the same first initial and surname and Mick is getting worried that he will be blacklisted or worse for his brothers debt.
How can he get the debt collector away from his door and to chase the correct brother?

debt collectors have no rights what so ever ask them to leave tell them you will not be paying them, escourt them off premises if need be ,inform the gas company your h is not the debtor and you want the situation sorted also tell them you will hold them to account for the behavior of the debt collector working on there behalf0
