There should be information on his credit report about how to correct incorrect information. He should get in contact with the credit reference agency- if he can't find the right section he will also find the same advice on the agencies website. Which credit agency did he use? He needs to check all 3 agencies as they may all have the same problem.
It should be fairly easy to prove you are different people - presumably you have different dates of birth and different names?

It does seem odd that they would have got you confused. Has he ever taken over an account that used to be yours? (utility or phone type account - not bank).

I can imagine if by chance you had the same birth date it would be a sort of understandable error. Probably just some sloppy credit check by a creditor in the past who put 2 & 2 together to make 44.

He can get the callcredit & equifax reports for £2 for the postal statutory report, both have details on their websites.
