    Use real chillis instead of powder. much better for flavour and can be cheap too. I have always found one scotch bonnet to go quite a long way.

    BUT WEAR GLOVES!!!!!! I didn't and sat for three hours with my hands in a bowl of sunflower oil - the ONLY thing that would stop the intense burning pain!!

    I also add celery - usually buy a bunch of it, and it's always too much, so chuck it in stuff like bolognese/chilli etc.

    The thread about the man going to the toilet after handling a chilli was the funniest thread ever on here!
