Had my first phone call today!! (update)

Think I spoke a bit too soon about only getting one phone call
Lloyds keep phoning me everyday now, at various times, even though I won't answer their security questions and inform them I will only deal with them by post. They did tell me today they were ringing to help me regarding my bank account with them, I don't have a bank account with Lloyds
. The guy on the phone got quite angry when I informed him of this and told me I was breaking the law by not answering his security questions and I did infact have a bank account with them
On a brighter note I managed to sell quite a bit on Ebay and have almost cleared 4 of my smaller catalogue debts, they should all be gone by next month :T. I have also closed 4 credit card accounts, the available credit on them was 10k+.
I've filled out a few job applications this past week, but haven't really been into it as much as I should. Will try harder with that next week
Recieved a phone call from next today requesting I pay the minimum amount. I explained to the lady it stated in my letter I was awaiting an appointment with CCCS and only wanted to be contacted by letter. She told me they had never recieved a letter, quite funny as they cashed the postal order that was with it! She has put a note on my account now
I have also recieved a letter from Lloyds stating that if I don't pay in 7 days they will pass it over to collections, a letter from littlewoods/additions saying they won't accept my payment and to phone them...... Do I just leave these until my appointment on Tuesday?

It's up to you.
I spoke to all of my creditors just once to explain that I was going on a dmp with CCCS, that they would hear shortly from CCCS, gave them my CCCS ref number and said that I was not prepared to enter into any further conversations with them and left it at that.
Made me feel better as I had told them my situation and told them that I wouldn't answer the phone if they rang - so I didn't feel guilty when I did ignore the phone.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

I'd personally leave it until you've had your appointment and then you will have a ref. number to give the creditors.
Good luck.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Hi Charlie
It does get better. We've been on a DMP with CCCS for over a year now. Some creditors were a complete pain at first, but once they realised that I wasn't going to be bullied into paying more the shut up. I do get the occasional call or txt message, but I calmly explain that I am on a DMP and then end the conversation.
You can send a letter to your creditors requesting they no longer contact you via the phone0 -
I agree, wait until you have had your meeting with CCCS before doing anything. You'll probably get more calls, but just keep asking them to communicate in writing only - refuse to answer any security questions and they shouldn't be able to discuss your account.
There are letters available to try to stop the calls, but i think you should wait until you know what you're going to be doing before sending those.
Have you posted up a SOA on the board incase we can offer some advice as to possible areas you can make savings? After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Do you have a CCCS reference number yet? I got mine while I was waiting for the phonecall, although it was about 3 years ago so they might have changed things. If you do just tell it to the creditors, mine backed off.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

I have a reference number and have wrote to all my creditors explaining that I have an appointment and will only be paying a token payment till then and then take it from there.
Just wondered what I need to do with the letter's saying they have refused the token payments and I need to pay now. I can't pay anymore now
.
The phone calls don't bother me, I don't get bullied by them easily and will just hang up if needs be
.
It's good to know other's here are in the same situation, i'm just glad i'm getting it sorted before it gets any worse.Virgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0 -

I'd ignore them. They wont have time to do anything before you have your appointment, and when CCCS get in touch with them it'll be out of your hands anyway.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
