Electronic repair in Belfast?

My home sound system has been cutting out so I opened it up to see that a capacitor is burnt out. Its an easy job to fix if you know what you are doing, except I don't really.

Does anyone know of somewhere in Belfast that can fix something like this?

Thanks in advance.

It rather depends upon why the capacitor burnt out.... really your fuse should blow first which tends to indicate another problem. It would not be hard to find someone who could change the cap for you but working out anything further is much more difficult. I would also be interested in knowing whether there is someone out there with a reputation for working with AV electronics.

  • Cheers. Does anyone know of anywhere else? The guy in Great Victoria Street charges £20 to look at anything, even if you have an idea what's wrong with it. Someone told me there was somewhere in East Belfast, but couldn't be any more specific.
  • May have been R A Hamilton's on Castlereagh Road, now sadly closed.

Try Stephen McDowell at the top of Mount Merrion Avenue, have had TV's repaired there no problem, also charges for looking though afaik.

S&R electrics (Sam's yer man) do repairs but not sure at what cost, I have a feeling they are pretty pricy! Might have been the one in east Belfast that someone thought of though.
