    Leftovers is a good idea, I had forgotten how much I liked cold spag bol until you reminded me!

    It is. No cooking involved as you can buy them in tins in the ethnic section. I have been using brown chickpeas (Kala Chana) by KTC foods.

    I discovered it by mistake. I bought the wrong chickpeas when I wanted to make hummus. I tasted the brown ones and they where lovely.

    You can get two good sized lunches from 1 tin of tuna and 1 tin of chickpeas.

    you cant go wrong with pasta, i always cook a little extra if im doing a spag bol, and toss it with a little of the tomato sauce, or if i do sweet&sour, pasta a little s&s sauce pinapple and sweetcorn, and your good to go

    I could heat everything up first thing in the morning and then put my rice or pasta n sauce in that first thing - I'm sure it would still be ok by lunchtime wouldn't it?

    This is how I discovered it cooks left in hot water! By lunchtime it's well overcooked and slimey :o

    One of the things I like for lunch is pasta & pesto sauce - you can cook it the night before and eat it cold at work for lunch.

    If you want you can add some antipasti to make it more interesting, I buy sun dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, grilled aubergine etc. It works out cheap as you only need to add a couple of pieces into the pasta & the jars last ages.

    Also you could try cous cous & add any vegetables you have at the time, e.g. courgettes, tomatoes, green beans, mushrooms. Again I normally cook this the night before & eat it cold for lunch.

    couscous with mixed veg (great cold)
    pitta bread (toasted then filled with whatever and wrapped in foil)
    chicken pasta or rice
    tuna on crispbreads or rye bread
    pasta or rice salad (peas, sweetcorn peppers frozen)
    chicken pieces
    cold sausages
    yogurts and nuts
    cheese & crackers

    I can no-longer eat bread and I have a few staple lunches:

    Brown rice, tuna, peas, sweetcorn and Ketchup (optional!) lovely hot or cold.
    Couscous, I buy the plain stuff and pop a bit of peri peri sauce or spices with it.
    Wraps or pitta. Both freeze fantastically.
    Leftovers I have all the time.

    I would suggest to get a small flask, that way you can heat stuff at home and just eat it from the flask. When you say you are moving around all the time, what do you do with your lunch at the minute? It would be no different to carrying sandwiches.
